Biography

Jonathan Freeman (born February 5, 1950) is an American actor, puppeteer, and singer best known for voicing Jafar in Disney's *Aladdin* franchise. He has portrayed Jafar in four animated films, eight video games including the *Kingdom Hearts* series, the television series *House of Mouse*, a 2011 Broadway musical, and other *Aladdin* media. Other film appearances include *Forever, Lulu* (1987), *The Ice Storm* (1997), and *The High Note* (2020).

On television, Freeman performed the puppeteering and voice for Tito Swing on the PBS series *Shining Time Station* (1989–1995) and had a recurring role as Rollie Pruitt on AMC's *Remember WENN* (1996–1998). Freeman has worked extensively in theater, particularly in musicals. Broadway credits include *How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying*, *The Producers*, *On the Town*, *42nd Street*, *The Little Mermaid*, and a Tony-nominated role in *She Loves Me*.
