Biography

Joshua Shelley was an actor who was blacklisted by Hollywood movie studios during the 1952 investigations by the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) into the Communist Party's influence in the film industry. As a result of the blacklist, Shelley was effectively barred from working in the film industry for over two decades. His career in Hollywood resumed in 1973, over twenty years after the initial blacklisting.
