Biography

Julia O'Hara Stiles (born March 28, 1981) is an American actress who began her career in small roles with a New York City theatre troupe before advancing to leading roles in stage productions by playwrights such as William Shakespeare and David Mamet. Her film career has encompassed both commercial and critical successes, including teen romantic comedies like 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) and darker, more artistic films such as The Business of Strangers (2001). She is known for portraying Nicky Parsons in the Bourne film series, for starring in Save the Last Dance, and for her role in Mona Lisa Smile. Stiles guest starred as Lumen Pierce in the fifth season of the Showtime series Dexter, a performance that earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination.
