Biography

Kenneth Clark Loggins is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his work with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and later with Jim Messina as Loggins and Messina, with whom he recorded seven albums from 1972 to 1977. He gained prominence for his contributions to film soundtracks, beginning with *A Star Is Born* in 1976, and became known as the "King of the Movie Soundtrack." As a solo artist, Loggins achieved significant success, including an Academy Award nomination for "Footloose" in 1985. He released *Finally Home* in 2013 and later formed the group Blue Sky Riders with Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman. Loggins has won two Grammy Awards and a Daytime Emmy, and has been nominated for an Academy Award, a Tony Award, and a Golden Globe Award.
