Kent Shocknek is an Emmy Award-winning American television and film personality known for his long and distinguished career as a TV newscaster. He gained recognition as Southern California's first and longest-running television morning news anchor before moving to prime-time newscasts on CBS-owned stations. His extensive career in journalism earned him the distinction of having logged more hours as an anchor than anyone else in Los Angeles, leading the city to honor him with two "Kent Shocknek Days." Leveraging his public recognizability, Shocknek transitioned into acting, appearing in over 100 feature films and television dramas, often portraying newscasters or commentators.
