Larry Jacobs

Lawrence R. Jacobs is an American political scientist and academic known for his work in political studies and public affairs. He is the founder and director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota. Jacobs has held several prestigious academic positions, including the Walter F. and Joan Mondale Chair for Political Studies and the McKnight Presidential Chair. Over his career, he has authored or edited 17 books and more than 100 scholarly articles on topics such as American democracy, political communications, health care reform, and economic inequality. His most recent book is *Democracy Under Fire: Donald Trump and the Breaking of American History*. In 2020, he was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
