Biography
Léo Lasko (1885–1949) was a German screenwriter and film director who worked during the silent and early sound film periods. Born into a Jewish family, he was deemed a "non-Aryan" by the Nazi government. Following the Nazi takeover in 1933, Lasko was barred from working in the film industry and eventually left Germany for Britain to avoid persecution.
