Biography

Leonard Michael Maltin is an American film critic, historian, and author best known for his comprehensive film reviews in *Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide*, which was published annually from 1969 to 2014. He served as the film critic for *Entertainment Tonight* from 1982 to 2012, providing weekly movie commentary to a wide audience. Since 1998, Maltin has been a professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where he teaches film history and criticism. In 2014, he launched the podcast *Maltin on Movies*, continuing his long-standing engagement with film culture. Additionally, he has held leadership roles in the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and contributes to the selection of films for the National Film Registry.
