Biography
Lionel Banks was a prolific art director who worked in Hollywood from 1935 to 1949, amassing over 200 film credits. He contributed to several notable films, including Leo McCarey's *The Awful Truth* (1937), Howard Hawks' *Only Angels Have Wings* (1939), and the comedy classic *His Girl Friday* (1940). Banks also worked on a number of *Blondie* B-movies, Alexander Hall's fantasy film *Here Comes Mr. Jordan* (1941), and Charles Vidor's biographical drama *A Song to Remember* (1945), which depicted the life of Chopin. His career encompassed a wide range of genres and styles, reflecting his versatility and commitment to film design.
