Biography
Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito were former detectives with the New York City Police Department who engaged in illegal activities on behalf of the Lucchese and Gambino crime families, two of the Five Families of the American Mafia. Their involvement with organized crime earned them the nickname "Mafia Cops." Their activities included shielding mob operations and interfering with justice, which eventually led to their arrest and conviction.
