Biography
Luis Fernando Verissimo was born in Porto Alegre on September 26 1936. He works as a writer, comedian, cartoonist, translator, television scriptwriter, theater author and novelist, and has also been an advertiser and newspaper reviewer. In addition to his literary activities he plays saxophone with various ensembles. With more than 80 published titles, he ranks among the most popular contemporary Brazilian writers. He is the son of writer Erico Verissimo.
