Biography

Mantas Kvedaravičius was a Lithuanian filmmaker, anthropologist, and archaeologist known for his work documenting life in conflict zones. His filmmaking style was characterized by an immersive and ethnographic approach, often focusing on the human experience in difficult and volatile environments. Kvedaravičius was killed during the Siege of Mariupol in Ukraine in March 2022 while covering the war's impact. His death was widely regarded as a significant loss to documentary filmmaking and war journalism.
