Biography
Marcel began his career in front of the camera at birth in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he was raised in a family of filmmakers. His breakout role came in the critically acclaimed Netflix sitcom *One Day at a Time* (2017), for which he received an Imagen Award for Best Young Actor and a Teen Choice Award nomination. He made his film debut as the lead in the 20th Century Fox movie *Breakthrough* (2019), and that same year was named to Variety's Top 10 Latinxs to Watch. He is set to write, produce, and star in the upcoming feature *Summer of Three* (2026), and also appears in the ensemble cast of Netflix’s new coming-of-age drama series *The Body*.
