Biography

Mariska Magdolna Hargitay is an American actress, philanthropist, producer, and director best known for her role as Olivia Benson on NBC's *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*. She has portrayed the character since the show's debut in 1999, making it the longest-running role in an American primetime drama. Hargitay's performance has earned her critical acclaim and numerous awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
