Biography

Martin Schliessler is an Austrian film director and screenwriter known for his work in the fantasy and adventure genres. He studied directing at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) and began his career in the film industry with various assistant directing roles. Schliessler made his feature film directorial debut with *The Sorcerer's Apprentice* (2010), a fantasy film based on the classic tale by Goethe, which he co-wrote and directed. The film was a commercial success and received positive reviews for its visual effects and storytelling. In 2017, he directed *The Nutcracker: The Golden Army*, a stop-motion animated film that serves as a prequel to his earlier work. Schliessler has also worked as a producer and has been involved in several international film projects.
