Biography
Maurice Herbert Evans (June 3, 1901 – March 12, 1989) was an English-born British-American actor of Welsh descent, known for his portrayals of Shakespearean characters. Among his most recognized screen roles are Dr. Zaius in the 1968 film *Planet of the Apes* and Maurice, the father of Samantha Stephens, in the television series *Bewitched*.
