Biography

Lana Michele Moorer, known professionally as MC Lyte, is an influential American rapper, songwriter, actress, television announcer, and businesswoman. Recognized as a pioneer in female rap, she rose to prominence in the late 1980s. In 1988, she became the first female rapper to release a full solo album with *Lyte as a Rock*, which received critical acclaim. The album produced the singles "10% Dis" and "Paper Thin," helping to establish her as a significant figure in hip-hop.
