Biography

Megan Gallagher (born February 6, 1960) is an American theater and television actress. She expressed a desire to act from the age of five and later took drama lessons during high school. She moved to New York to study at Juilliard and appeared in the Broadway cast of *A Few Good Men*, for which she won the Theatre World Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award for outstanding debut. After earning a bachelor's degree from Juilliard, she joined John Houseman's Acting Company and began appearing in TV movies and miniseries. Frustrated by the challenges of breaking into the industry in Los Angeles, she considered quitting to attend law school before landing a role on *Hill Street Blues* (1981), which began as a guest appearance and evolved into a regular position.
