Biography

Michael Patrick Boatman is an American actor and writer known for his work in television and film. He is recognized for his role as New York City mayoral aide Carter Heywood in the ABC sitcom *Spin City* and as U.S. Army Specialist Samuel Beckett in the ABC drama series *China Beach*. Boatman also appeared in the Vietnam War film *Hamburger Hill*, portraying 101st Airborne soldier Motown, and later played sports agent Stanley Babson in the HBO sitcom *Arli$$*. He has more recently appeared in *The Good Fight*, the Paramount+ spin-off of *The Good Wife*.
