Michael McCafferty

Michael McCafferty is an American serial entrepreneur, inventor, and programmer, known as the "Father of CRM" for developing TeleMagic, the first CRM software for personal computers. After graduating from college in 1964, he worked for IBM before founding Eastern Data Processing, a subsidiary of Technitrol, Inc. His startup PAL, a computerized Yellow Pages service, failed in 1983, resulting in his declaration of bankruptcy. He later founded Remote Control International and developed TeleMagic, which achieved commercial and customer success. In 1992, his company and the software were acquired by The Sage Group. McCafferty's entrepreneurial activities began in college, where he launched ventures such as a birthday cake delivery service, a restaurant, and an advertising business. He continues to mentor startup founders and CEOs.
