Biography

Michelle M. Witten is an American screenwriter and producer known for her work in the horror and thriller genres. She is best known for co-creating the television series *American Horror Story*, which premiered on FX in 2011. Witten also co-created *American Horror Story: Hotel* and *American Horror Story: Freak Show*, both of which received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations. In addition to her work on *American Horror Story*, she has written for other television series, including *The West Wing* and *The West Wing: The Movie*. Witten has also worked as a producer on various film and television projects, including the 2016 horror film *The Bye Bye Man*. She is married to fellow screenwriter and producer Brad Falchuk, with whom she has collaborated on several projects.
