Mikijirō Hira was a Japanese actor who began his career on stage in the 1950s and remained active in film, television, and theater until his death. Known for his Shakespearean roles, he became a prominent figure in Japanese performing arts, particularly through his collaborations with director Yukio Ninagawa starting in the 1970s. His acclaimed performance as Macbeth is among his most notable stage roles.
