Biography

Mitja Okorn is an economist by training and a film director by passion. His first short film, *Be Flexible*, premiered in 2001 and won an award at the Motovun Festival in Croatia, among others. In 2004, he made his feature film debut with *Tu pa tam* (Here and There), a low-budget production that became a major success in Slovenia, achieved wide distribution, and was shown at several European film festivals. In 2007, he was nominated for the British Council's International Young Film Entrepreneur of the Year Award (IYFEY) and was named a European Star of Tomorrow by *Screen International* magazine. That same year, the Polish broadcaster TVN invited him to direct the popular series *39 i pół* (39 and a Half) and later to collaborate on *Letters to Santa*. Okorn has also directed numerous commercials and award-winning music videos. He has lived and worked in Poland since 2007.
