Biography
Mona Awad is a Canadian novelist and short-story writer. Her debut novel, *13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl*, which explores a woman's lifelong struggle with body image issues, won the Amazon.ca First Novel Award and was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize in 2016. Her second novel, *Bunny*, published in June 2019 by Viking Press, was optioned for film by Bad Robot Productions in 2023. The novel follows Samantha Mackey, a graduate student at the fictional Warren University in New England, who becomes entangled in the strange rituals of a student clique known as the "Bunnies," who are more than they initially appear. Awad's third novel, *All's Well*, was released on August 3, 2021, by Simon & Schuster. Since 2020, she has served as an assistant professor at Syracuse University.
