Biography

Morris E. Day is an American singer, songwriter, bandleader, and actor, best known as the lead vocalist of the Minneapolis-based funk and R&B band The Time. His work with the group in the early 1980s helped define the Minneapolis sound, blending funk, rock, and pop influences. Day's dynamic stage presence and vocal style contributed to The Time's success, with hits such as "The Bird" and "Jungle Love." Beyond music, he has also pursued acting, appearing in films and television, including a role in the 1986 movie *Purple Rain*, which featured Prince and members of The Time.
