Biography

Naseem Banu was an Indian actress whose career spanned from the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s. She made her film debut in *Khoon Ka Khoon (Hamlet)* (1935), co-starring with Sohrab Modi, under the Minerva Movietone banner. She continued to work with Modi's productions for several years, including a notable role in *Pukar* (1939), in which she played Empress Nur Jahan. According to composer Naushad, she was given the nickname "Pari-Chehra Naseem" through the promotional material of her films. Naseem Banu was the mother of actress Saira Banu and the mother-in-law of actor Dilip Kumar.
