Biography

Sir Nicholas Alexander Faldo (born July 18, 1957) is an English retired professional golfer and television commentator. Considered one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, Faldo was known for his commitment to golf and spent a total of 97 weeks ranked No. 1 on the Official World Golf Ranking. His 41 professional victories include 30 on the European Tour and six major championships: three Open Championships (1987, 1990, 1992) and three Masters (1989, 1990, 1996).

Since retiring from professional play, Faldo has worked as a television commentator for major golf events. In 2006, he became the lead golf analyst for CBS Sports. In 2012, he joined the BBC Sport on-air team to cover the Open Championship.
