Biography
Norman Kerry was an American actor whose film career spanned twenty-five years, beginning in 1916 and reaching its height during the silent film era of the 1920s. Originally named Norman Kaiser, he changed his surname at the start of World War I, likely due to the anti-German sentiment of the time. He gained prominence as a leading man and was often compared to Clark Gable, earning the nickname "the Clark Gable of the [1920s]." Kerry's career reflected the transition of Hollywood through the silent film period.
