Biography

Oliver Norvell Hardy was an American comic actor best known as one half of the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. The pair began their partnership in 1926 and remained a prominent double act in the film industry until 1957, appearing together in 107 short films, feature films, and cameo roles. Hardy was credited in his first film, *Outwitting Dad*, in 1914. Before joining producer Hal Roach, he was often billed in silent films under the name Babe Hardy.
