Biography

Olympia Dukakis was an accomplished American actress who worked extensively in theater, film, and television. She performed in over 130 stage productions, more than 60 films, and approximately 50 television series. Dukakis began her career in theater and quickly gained recognition, winning an Obie Award for Best Actress in 1963 for her off-Broadway performance in Bertolt Brecht's *Man Equals Man*. She is best remembered for her work in film, where she became a respected and versatile presence in the industry.
