Biography

John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne was an English singer, songwriter, and media personality, widely credited as a pioneer of heavy metal music. Known as the "Prince of Darkness," he co-founded the band Black Sabbath in 1968 and served as its lead vocalist, contributing to the band's prominence during the 1970s. Osbourne performed on the group's first eight studio albums, including *Black Sabbath*, *Paranoid*, and *Master of Reality* (1971), before being dismissed in 1979 due to his struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. His contributions to Black Sabbath formed the basis for his long and influential career in rock and metal music.
