Biography

Patrick Edlinger was a pioneering French rock climber known for his contributions to sport climbing and free solo climbing. He achieved significant milestones in the climbing world, including being the second climber to redpoint routes of grade 7c (5.12d) with Nymphodalle in 1979 and grade 7c+ (5.13a) with Le Toit in 1981. Edlinger also made history by being the first to onsight routes of grade 7b+ (5.12c) with Captain Crochet in 1982 and grade 7c (5.12d) with La Polka des Ringards in the same year. His accomplishments established him as a legend in the climbing community.
