Biography
Paul Cheng is a bilingual, Taiwanese Canadian actor and stunt performer based in Vancouver, Canada. He was born on August 4, 1978, in Taipei, Taiwan, to a Chinese father and a Taiwanese mother, under the name Chih-Ping Cheng. He has a younger sister named Yvonne. Paul moved to Canada at the age of nine and was raised in Toronto, Ontario. During high school, he played football and earned an athletic scholarship to Simon Fraser University, where he graduated with a degree in economics.
Paul is recognized as the first Taiwanese-born professional football player and the first Asian-Canadian to be selected as a first-round draft pick by the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League. After a brief motion capture role, he shifted his focus to Vancouver's film and television industry. He made his feature film debut in the *Night at the Museum* trilogy, portraying a Hun in a night-activated museum exhibit alongside Ben Stiller and the late Robin Williams. Encouraged to develop his fight skills, Paul began training in boxing and remained undefeated at the professional level before transitioning to MMA. He became a top Heavyweight contender with ONE Championship in Asia before moving to arena football, where he won the CAFL Championship with the Beijing Lions.
Paul continues to train in martial arts, stunt work, and choreography, in addition to acting in film and television. He has appeared in numerous feature films, streamer features, TV series, and streamer series, showcasing his diverse range of skills. His appearances in several popular titles led to his most anticipated role to date: Scrimshaw Sam in the upcoming feature film *Peter Pan & Wendy*.
In addition to his athletic dedication, Paul brings over 15 years of experience as a professional stunt actor to his projects. He aims to provide balanced diversity and authentic representation on screen while contributing to meaningful and entertaining storytelling.
