Biography

Peyton Williams Manning is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for 18 seasons. Known by the nickname "the Sheriff," Manning played 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and four with the Denver Broncos. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. A member of the prominent Manning football family, he is the son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, the older brother of former NFL quarterback Eli Manning, and the uncle of Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning. Manning played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers, where he won the Maxwell, Davey O'Brien, and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm awards in 1997, leading his team to victory in the 1997 SEC Championship Game.
