Biography
Phani Sarma (1910–1970) was an Indian theatre actor, playwright, film actor, and director known for his contributions to Assamese cinema and drama. He began his career on stage before making his film debut in *Joymati*, the first Assamese film, released in 1935. Sarma was honored with the title "Natasurya," a recognition of his significant role in advancing Assamese theatre and film.
