Biography

Pierre Batcheff was a French actor of Russian origin who became a well-known film actor from the mid-1920s to the early 1930s. He is best known for his role in the surrealist short film *Un chien andalou* (1929), directed by Luis Buñuel and co-created with Salvador Dalí. Batcheff appeared in approximately twenty-five films during his career. He died at a young age as a result of a drug overdose.
