R. J. Cutler is an American director and producer whose work spans film and television. His projects cover a broad range of subjects and formats, including political documentaries such as *The War Room* and *A Perfect Candidate*, as well as observational series like *American High*. He has directed in-depth profiles of cultural figures, including *Listen to Me Marlon*, a documentary about actor and boxer Marlon Brando, and *Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry*, which documents the rise of the young pop star. Among his other notable works are *Belushi*, a documentary on comedian John Belushi, and *The September Issue*, which focuses on *Vogue* magazine's September 2008 edition.
