Biography

Rachael Joy Denhollander is an American lawyer and former gymnast who became widely known for being the first woman to publicly accuse Larry Nassar, a former physician at Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics, of sexual assault. Her testimony was instrumental in revealing the extent of Nassar's abuse and contributed to major legal and institutional outcomes. Denhollander has received recognition for her advocacy and perseverance, including being named 2018 Glamour Woman of the Year and appearing on Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2018. She also received the 2021 Abraham Kuyper Prize for Excellence in Reformed Theology and Public Life.
