Biography

Ralph Rexford Bellamy was an American actor whose career in stage, film, and television spanned six decades. He was known for his versatility, taking on both leading and supporting roles and receiving critical acclaim for his performances. Bellamy won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his role in *Sunrise at Campobello* and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in *The Awful Truth* (1937). In recognition of his long and distinguished career, he was presented with an Honorary Academy Award in 1986.
