Biography
Richard James McDonald and Maurice James "Mac" McDonald, collectively known as the McDonald brothers, were American entrepreneurs who founded the fast food company McDonald's. They opened the first McDonald's restaurant in 1940 in San Bernardino, California, originally as a barbecue drive-in. After trying various menu items, they transitioned to a streamlined menu featuring hamburgers, fries, and milkshakes, which improved operational efficiency. Their business model formed the basis for the McDonald's franchise, later expanded and popularized by Ray Kroc, resulting in the global fast food chain recognized today.
