Biography
Robert D. Cabana is a former NASA astronaut and administrator, known for his service as a naval flight officer and aviator in the U.S. Marine Corps before joining NASA. He flew on four Space Shuttle missions and held key leadership roles, including Chief of the Astronaut Office from 1994 to 1997 and director of the John F. Kennedy Space Center from 2008 to 2021. Cabana also served as NASA's Associate Administrator. His career reflects a long history of contributions to space exploration and aerospace operations.
