Robert L. Roberts

Robert L. Roberts (born April 27, 1940) is an American television director and producer known for his work in the 1970s and 1980s. He directed numerous episodes of popular television series, including *The Mod Squad*, *The Streets of San Francisco*, *Kojak*, *Starsky & Hutch*, and *Columbo*. Roberts also directed episodes of *The Rockford Files* and *Dallas*. In addition to his television work, he directed several made-for-television movies, including *The Legend of the 7 Gold Cities* (1981) and *The Last American Hero* (1973), which was based on the life of drag racer Don "The Snake" Prudhomme. Roberts was known for his ability to work efficiently within the constraints of television production, and his work helped shape the look and feel of 1970s and 1980s television.
