Biography

Robert Joseph Pastorelli (June 21, 1954 – March 8, 2004) was an American actor who appeared in television, film, and theater. He is best known for his seven-year portrayal of Eldin Bernecky, a portly painter, on the television series *Murphy Brown*. His final film role was as an eccentric hit man in *Be Cool*, in which he reteamed with John Travolta, with whom he had previously worked on *Saturday Night Fever*. Pastorelli died in 2004 as a result of a heroin overdose.
