Russell Ebert

Russell Frank Ebert was an Australian rules footballer and coach, recognized as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He played for the Port Adelaide Football Club and is considered its greatest-ever player. Ebert is the only player to have won four Magarey Medals, an award presented to the best and fairest player in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Football historian John Devaney praised Ebert's abilities, stating that he "came as close as any player in history to exhibiting complete mastery over all the essential skills of the game." Ebert is one of four Australian rules footballers honored with a statue at Adelaide Oval, alongside Ken Farmer, Malcolm Blight, and Barrie Robran.
