Biography
Sandie Shaw, born Sandra Ann Goodrich, is an English retired singer who gained prominence in the 1960s. She charted three UK number one singles: "(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me" (1964), "Long Live Love" (1965), and "Puppet on a String" (1967), the latter of which won the Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom, the first UK entry to do so. Shaw became a notable figure of the Swinging Sixties and was often called "the barefoot pop princess of the 1960s." In 1984, she returned to the UK Top 40 with a cover of The Smiths' "Hand in Glove." She left the music industry in 2013.
