Biography

Satya Sorab Bhabha was born on December 13, 1983, in London. He is a British actor known for his breakout roles in the Scott Pilgrim franchise and Salman Rushdie’s *Midnight’s Children*. He portrayed Matthew Patel, the first “evil ex,” in *Scott Pilgrim vs. the World* (2010). Bhabha spent his early childhood in London before moving to the United States as a child, where he lived in Chicago during his high school years. He later attended Yale University, where he studied theater, directed student productions, and received the prestigious Louis Sudler Prize for Excellence in the Arts. In addition to acting, Bhabha is an accomplished musician and classically trained cellist who has performed internationally with symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles. He has also played cello in an indie band. In recent years, he has worked behind the camera, directing for television, including episodes of the HBO series *Gossip Girl*. On television, Bhabha had a multi-episode recurring role as Shivrang on Fox’s sitcom *New Girl*. His other screen credits include roles in indie films and shorts, such as the coming-of-age comedy *Dude* (2018), and ensemble projects with actors like Michael Cera and Anna Kendrick.
