Sid Griffin is an American musician known for his work as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and bandleader. He gained prominence in the 1980s as the leader of the Long Ryders, a band influential in the roots rock and country revival scenes. In the 1990s, he co-founded the Coal Porters, further exploring traditional American music styles. Based in London, England, Griffin has also pursued a solo career, releasing several albums that showcase his deep connection to folk, bluegrass, and Americana. In addition to his musical contributions, he is an author who has written extensively on music history, including works on Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, and the bluegrass tradition.
