Stephen Chow Sing-chi is a Hong Kong filmmaker and former actor known for his mo lei tau comedy style, which has had a significant influence on Chinese popular culture. He began his career in television, gaining recognition through variety shows and TV dramas. His breakthrough came in 1989 with the comedy dramas *The Final Combat* and *The Justice of Life*, the latter marking the start of his on-screen partnership with Ng Man-tat. Over the next two years, Chow broke Hong Kong’s box office records with *All for the Winner* (1990) and *Fight Back to School* (1991), solidifying his position as one of the region's most popular comedic actors.
