Biography

Stephen John Ditko was an influential American comic book artist who co-created some of Marvel's most iconic superheroes, including Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. He was responsible for Spider-Man's debut in *Amazing Fantasy* #15 (1962), a story that established the character as a relatable, teenage protagonist and helped define the superhero genre. Ditko also contributed to the visual design of Iron Man, introducing the character's red and yellow color scheme. His work in comic book art and storytelling has had a lasting impact on popular culture.
