Biography
Steven Sater is an American poet, playwright, lyricist, television writer, and screenwriter who has received a Tony Award, a Grammy Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award. He is best known for his work on the 2006 Broadway musical *Spring Awakening*, for which he wrote the book and lyrics. The musical received critical acclaim and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. Sater's work is noted for its poetic language and emotional depth, and he has contributed to various other theatrical and television projects throughout his career.
